Answer course and coaching disputes with proof of access and attendance
A buyer who finished half the course, or attended the calls, can still file a dispute. The bank needs to see what they bought, what they accessed, and the refund terms they agreed to.
The disputes you'll see most, and what answers them
The buyer says the program wasn't what was promised.
What answers it
- The sales page as it was when they bought
- How much they used: modules completed, lessons viewed, calls attended
- Your reply to their complaint and what you offered
When accepting is the better choice
The sales page promised specific results you can't show were delivered, or they barely used the program and you never answered their complaint.
The buyer says they were promised a refund.
What answers it
- Your refund or guarantee terms, shown at checkout
- When they asked, compared with your refund window
- Your written reply to the refund request
When accepting is the better choice
They asked inside your refund window, or you promised a refund in writing.
A coaching client stopped paying installments and disputed one.
What answers it
- The installment agreement they signed or accepted
- Sessions and material delivered before the disputed installment
- Your cancellation records
When accepting is the better choice
They cancelled before the charge and the terms didn't commit them to the full plan.
Questions
A student finished most of my course, then disputed the charge. Can I win?
Often, yes. Show their progress with dates, the course outline as it was sold, and the refund terms they accepted. Heavy use undermines a claim that the course wasn't as described.
My sales page mentions income results. Will Upheld argue those were delivered?
Not without evidence. If your page promised specific results, the honest rating will say so, and we won't argue results were delivered unless you can show it. Banks often side with buyers on these claims.
Does a money-back guarantee hurt me in a dispute?
Not if its conditions were clear at checkout and the buyer didn't meet them. If they asked inside the window and met the conditions, refunding is usually the better choice.
Does a won dispute still count against my account?
Yes. A dispute counts toward your dispute rate with Stripe and the card networks whether you win or lose, so preventing disputes matters as much as winning them.
Will Upheld send anything to the bank without my approval?
No. You read every sentence of the response, with the source of each fact beside it, and nothing is submitted until you approve it. With the free tool, you copy the draft and submit it yourself.
